POWER GENERATION ACTIVITY SPECTRUM
As forward integration of Coal business, Gupta Group has ventured into Power Generation and is in the process of establishing a chain of IPPs utilizing both conventional & non-conventional energy sources.
THERMAL POWER GENERATION
Gupta Group through its subsidiary Gupta Energy Private Limited, has pioneered one-of-its-kind Power Project of 660 MW in two phases using washery rejects and raw coal as fuel. The Phase-I consists 120 MW (2 x 60 MW) & Phase-II consists of 540 MW (2 x 270 MW),at Tal. Ghugus, Dist. Chandrapur, (M.S)
The first Unit of 2 x 60 MW Thermal Power Plant has achieved COD in May 2012 and Second Unit in Sept. 2012 at Vill. Usegaon, Tah. Ghugus, Dist. Chandrapur Maharashtra.
Phase II (2 x 270 MW) is having necessary infrastructure such as land, water, power evacuation facility, logistics etc. The clearances from Ministry of Power & Industries, Civil Aviation Dept. Water Irrigation Dept. & all other local bodies. The Company has all the financial and administrative sanctions for the success of the project . The project is being executed by the company on its own following individual package route under the able guidance of its technical team and the project consultants.
Overall, the target is to install total generation capacity of 5000 MW by next five years.
BIOMASS POWER GENERATION
Gupta Group through its associate company - Maharashtra Vidhyut Nigam Limited, has setup 1 X 10 MW Bio Mass Power Plant at Tal. Deoli, Dist. Wardha, of Maharashtra state. It is generating renewable power , using agricultural waste, Biomass etc.
Further addition of Biomass power generation is on anvil.
SOLAR POWER GENERATION
The Group has planning of setting up solar power generation unit of 50 MW capacity. The site has been selected at Jaisalmer, Rajasthan and further formalities are in progress.
WIND POWER GENERATION
Gupta Group is harnessing Wind Power for generating renewable green power by setting up wind mills across various parts of the country. The Group has installed Wind Mills in the state of Maharashtra, Tamilnadu, Karnataka & Rajasthan having total capacity 26 MW. This renewable power is fed to the respective State Grid.
